Take Action and See Results! While running every day is good and so is taking a Pilates class three times a week, it can also get boring sometimes doing the same exercise over and over again for better health. That’s why it’s important to change things up in small ways to give your body (and your mind) more of a challenge! Do you like walking or running on a treadmill? Why not add a little bit more of a challenge to your treadmill workout by holding a 5-pound dumbbell in each hand? Once your body gets comfortable with this routine, you can add bicep curls and tricep extensions as you walk. Don’t feel coordinated enough to multitask with weights while walking? Challenge yourself in other ways—change up your speed, the incline, the distance, or run/walk intervals to keep things interesting. You can—and should—apply this same principle to any type of workout. Your body becomes accustomed to a routine after a few times of performing it. So mix things up regularly to keep your mind engaged and your body challenged.
