Transitioning From Summer to School | Ooltewah, TN Walk-In Clinic- AFC Urgent Care

The team at AFC Urgent Care Ooltewah wants to help you make your family’s transition from the careless days of summer to the stricter schedule of school as smooth as possible. Read on for some tips. Maintain a Positive Attitude For both parents and children, going back to school can be stressful. When your little ones are beginning a new school year, some level of anxiety is normal. As a result, it’s important to try and help your kids maintain a positive attitude. Instead of fostering their nervousness with your own anxiety, start getting your child excited about the upcoming school year. Focus on all the good and exciting things that will occur this year. That way your kids don’t dwell on the negative aspects of school, like early wakeup times and getting started in a new, unfamiliar place, but instead focus on the positives. Of course, you also want to start planning for those negatives, especially when it comes to waking up early and getting back on schedule. To help ease your kids back into a routine, start having them go to bed earlier and get up earlier a few days before school starts back. This will help their bodies adjust. During the summer, it may have felt like it was easier to connect with your kids. You can keep that connection going throughout the school year. Take time every day to interact as a family and learn about what’s going on. You can also plan weekly family “dates,” where you spend time enjoying an activity together. They don’t need to be something expensive, but can be something as simple as enjoying a movie at home together. No matter what your family health need, AFC Urgent Care Ooltewah is here to help. We’re open seven days a week, and no appointment is required.
